Trump made it a point in his campaign for presidency that he would build a wall between Mexico and Texas.  He said the funding for this would come from Mexico, but, obviously, Mexico did not want to pay for this.  In order to protect the border, Trump has turned to the military.  Instead of using a wall to protect the border, he has stated that he wishes to turn the border area into a firing range for the military.

Trump’s alternative is very effective in “deterring illegal immigration and drug trafficking,” according to border official Mike Belegrade.

We got in touch with cartel leader Carlos Martinez, who says that “[This] might stop our drug trafficking to Texas; we were already angry at the border wall idea, and this is just worse.” Trump has killed two stones with one bird. Experts from the National Policy Analysis Center predict drug trafficking and illegal immigration will drop to an all-time low of 0.46%, a huge success for the United States. Carlos Martinez states that he won’t use the Mexico-Texas border for trafficking anymore, and will need to go around.  What Martinez doesn’t know, however, is that this is where the all-around flexibility of Trump’s plan comes in.  He has called for all of the branches of the military, inclusive of the navy, to take action and carry out military operations wherever they please. The navy would stop all drug trades throughout the Gulf, or seize whatever they want for personal use.

 

Despite the benefits of this new plan, there are some drawbacks.  This new border has angered the left wing.  In fact, Hillary Clinton came out saying, “This new wall will only bring shame to the United States and our foreign policy. Illegals deserve to coexist within our country.” Obama has tweeted out against it as well.

Four Star General Stephan White of the Army issued a statement, claiming that “The border will be protected from both sides (in case of internal protest).”
